Our Semi-Precious Malachite Mala Necklace is composed of a material that has become increasingly difficult to source. Fine malachite with this depth of colour, with strong natural banding and rich saturation, is now scarce, making pieces like this one far less common than they once were. Each bead reveals its own layered pattern—deep green striations formed over thousands of years—ensuring that every mala is entirely unique and not easily replaced.

Malachite has long been known as the “stone of transformation,” revered across cultures from Ancient Egypt to India. It was worn for protection, believed to absorb negative energy, and valued for its association with renewal, clarity, and emotional balance. Its vivid green tones—reminiscent of lush landscapes—have long symbolized growth, life, and the heart.

This mala was hand-beaded in Jaipur, India, a city with a distinguished jewelry tradition dating back to the 18th century. Each bead is carefully selected and strung by skilled artisans, continuing techniques passed down through generations. The tassels are made with very fine faceted beads that sparkle as the necklace moves. Only our most skilled artisans are able to bead these unique tassels for us.
