Kantha is a centuries-old Indian craft of stitching patchwork cloth from rags. The word kantha is derived from the Sanskrit word kontha, which means rugs. The craft originated in the Bengali region of India, now known as West Bengal and Orissa, and Bangladesh, before 1500 BC. Each coat is a unique fusion of 100% cotton repurposed fabrics made into vintage quilts with intricate Kantha stitching, and then made into coats.
