Royston Turquoise and Purple Spiny Oyster Silver Navajo Pendant
Our Royston Purple Spiny Oyster Silver Pendant is a striking composition of earth and sea, a piece where color, history, and craftsmanship come together in quiet harmony. At its center rests a vivid Royston turquoise, known for its rich blend of blue and green hues often laced with golden matrix, each stone completely unique, like a miniature landscape shaped over time. Above it, the rare purple spiny oyster shell adds a luminous depth, its warm, organic tones creating a beautiful contrast that feels both bold and refined.
Royston turquoise comes from the historic Royston mining district in Nevada, one of the oldest turquoise-producing regions in the American Southwest. Prized for its natural variation and character, it has long been favored by Native American artisans who value stones that tell a story through their matrix and color. Today, high-quality Royston is increasingly difficult to source, making pieces like this all the more special. Paired with it, spiny oyster shell, found in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez, has been used for centuries in Southwestern jewelry, treasured for its vibrant color and connection to the ocean.
Together, these materials create a piece that feels alive with meaning. The pendant hangs effortlessly, its elongated silhouette flattering and easy to wear, whether layered with other necklaces or worn alone as a statement. It pairs beautifully with both everyday pieces and more flowing silhouettes especially one of our kaftans adding a touch of color, history, and individuality to any look.
Jean Marie personally selected this pendant during her travels, drawn to the rare purple hue of the spiny oyster and the character of the Royston stone. It is more than jewelry, it is a meeting of landscapes, a reflection of tradition, and a piece to treasure for years to come.
