Yellow cactus caftan
"It’s so comfy"

Our Orangina Needle Shibori kaftan is the most delicious color that you can imagine. It looks to be truly edible! This dress will absolutely "WOW" all those who see it and especially those who wear it!
The Shibori method of tie dye is world renowned for its beauty and its Japanese origins, but few people know the that this technique has found a home with a unique set of artisans in India who have developed a unique twist: the “needle Shibori” method. Pieces from our Needle Shibori collection integrate the Japanese roots of this technique with the South Asian influences that inspire our work at Pax Philomena.
When you purchase and enjoy our Shibori kaftans, you can don a gorgeous dress while knowing you are directly supporting the livelihoods of artisans who have given their hearts and souls to their creations.
Our mission at Pax is not only to bring beautiful clothing and happiness to our customers, but also to directly support the artisans who craft these items by hand in a time where so many true artists are being threatened by “fast fashion” and digital printing methods.
With that in mind, we want to tell you a bit more about the specifics of our Shibori kaftans below.
The Needle Shibori method is detail-intensive and requires immense experience and skill. The artisans who create these dresses intentionally weave a needle in and out of the cloth hundreds of times in intricate patterns in order to create the unique texture of our designs. Many of our artisans have been trained in these methods since childhood and their families have been practicing these ancient techniques for many generations.

"It’s so comfy"
"I was unable to return this item but I would have because it is quite sheer."
"Comfortable and elegant at the same time"
"Have looked at the Nizhoni maxi for at least 2 years and finally purchased recently. It is gorgeous of course but, such a creative combination of colors. Love wearing it and paired with Pax Philomena Native American jewelry it's a showstopper. Can wear year round. Just throw on a pax boiled wool coat or kantha coat! Jean Marie Clarke is a genius when it comes to fashion."
"Love this full length caftan. Beautiful print and soft light cotton. Shipped to Canada at lightening speed."
"Thrilled to add this dress to my Pax Philomena collection. The fabric is unique, feels good to the touch. Wore it out the other day and it reminded me of a kimono. Looked great!"
"Just restocked my Pax Philomena kaftans. My first set of four took 6 years to wear out, and it was time. New prints. Same style and comfort. Chic. Classic. The best!"
"Don’t like the fabric at all. Unforgiving to the body’s curves. Also the picture shows bright blue vibrant material which it is not in reality it’s a dull blue, and looks like something you buy at a tourist street bazaar in Thailand. Would not recommend. The only thing I can say is it’s well done."
"This stunning blue kaftan moves with you in an easy, airy flow. I wore it for over six hours to a warm summer party and was comfortable all day. Definitely recommend."
