Handwoven in Uzbekistan from exceptionally fine cotton, the fabric possesses a luminous sheen that catches the light with the softness and elegance often associated with silk itself. True Uzbek ikat is created by resist-dyeing the threads before they are woven, an intricate process requiring remarkable precision and generations of inherited skill. The softly blurred motifs, alive with movement, are not printed but born directly into the cloth, making every length of fabric entirely unique.

What makes this tunic especially rare is the way it is woven. Traditional Uzbek artisans still work on remarkably narrow looms, producing slender panels of cloth that must be joined together by hand. Beautiful textiles of this quality are increasingly difficult to source, and because only a limited amount of fabric existed, Jean Marie was able to create just one dress. Once it finds its home, there will never be another quite like it.

Jean Marie personally selected this textile during her travels, immediately captivated by its joyful palette of soft jade green, luminous yellow, and vibrant pink. The colors felt as though they had been lifted from an ancient caravan crossing the deserts of Central Asia, carrying treasures destined for faraway lands.
