Handcrafted exclusively for our collection by a talented female Santo Domingo artisan, this elegant necklace was specially commissioned through the close friendship she shares with our founder, Jean Marie. Over many years, Jean Marie has worked directly with this artisan, collaborating on designs that honor traditional Pueblo craftsmanship while showcasing exceptional natural materials. This necklace reflects that partnership, blending soft melon shell, vivid gaspeite, brilliant turquoise, and hand-cut heishi into a harmonious design inspired by the colors of the Southwestern landscape.

The Santo Domingo people are celebrated for preserving one of the oldest jewelry-making traditions in North America. Their mastery of heishi, tiny hand-cut, drilled, shaped, and polished beads, has been passed from generation to generation for centuries. Every strand represents hours of meticulous craftsmanship and remarkable precision.
