Delfina Blue Maxi Kaftan Dress

Sale price$295.00

Our Delfina Blue Floral Maxi Kaftan Dress brings together extraordinary color, traditional Indian craftsmanship, and the centuries-old art of hand block printing that lies at the heart of Pax Philomena. Its exuberant floral pattern is block printed by hand on fine cotton voile, with skilled artisans carefully positioning carved wooden blocks across the cloth one impression at a time. The remarkable range of blues—from deep indigo and cobalt to softer shades of azure—gives this fabric a richness and depth that cannot be replicated by mechanical printing.

Delfina transports you to the Mediterranean, where brilliant blue seas, whitewashed buildings, painted ceramics, and centuries of decorative arts come together. This intricate botanical design has the feeling of an antique textile discovered on a journey, while the beautiful border frames the dramatic sleeves and sweeping hem of this dress. Jean Marie chooses textiles for Pax Philomena that have this sense of discovery—fabrics with enough beauty, artistry, and character to make the clothing itself something worth collecting.

Made from lightweight cotton voile, our Delfina feels wonderfully soft and fluid against the skin. The generous 54-inch silhouette falls gracefully from the shoulders, while the adjustable drawstring waist allows this dress to be worn relaxed or gently gathered for greater definition. Handmade tassels finish the drawstrings, adding another artisan detail to this exceptional piece.

Our Delfina embodies the philosophy behind Pax Philomena: slow fashion rooted in extraordinary textiles and the patronage of artisans whose knowledge passes from one generation to the next. Because every length of fabric is block printed by hand, subtle variations in color and placement naturally occur. These differences are not imperfections; they are evidence of the human hand and part of what makes every Delfina individual.

Support artisans. Wear art. Be unique.

"I cannot say enough how wonderful these kaftans are! They are stunning and wear well. They are always complimented wherever I go"

Shrinkage

"They shrink when you wash them per instructions. I would only dry clean mine if I hadn't already had the misfortune of shrinking it. Also at this price point the fabric should be pre washed before construction to prevent this."

Buy it!

"Have looked at the Nizhoni maxi for at least 2 years and finally purchased recently. It is gorgeous of course but, such a creative combination of colors. Love wearing it and paired with Pax Philomena Native American jewelry it's a showstopper. Can wear year round. Just throw on a pax boiled wool coat or kantha coat! Jean Marie Clarke is a genius when it comes to fashion."

Unique Pax Piece

"Thrilled to add this dress to my Pax Philomena collection. The fabric is unique, feels good to the touch. Wore it out the other day and it reminded me of a kimono. Looked great!"

Love these kaftans!

"Just restocked my Pax Philomena kaftans. My first set of four took 6 years to wear out, and it was time. New prints. Same style and comfort. Chic. Classic. The best!"

Ann H. (5/5)

"Don’t like the fabric at all. Unforgiving to the body’s curves. Also the picture shows bright blue vibrant material which it is not in reality it’s a dull blue, and looks like something you buy at a tourist street bazaar in Thailand. Would not recommend. The only thing I can say is it’s well done."
