Apsara Cotton Mermaid Maxi Dress
This fascinatingly unique mermaid dress which we call Apsara is named after Jean Marie's Auntie Jean's sailing boat that was built in her Aunt's apartment in Bombay in the 1950's. Needless to say Uncle David was a true Brit and a crazy sailor to boot. It took months and months to build the boat which consumed the whole of their sitting room. The interesting part is that once the boat was built, nobody had thought ahead of time about how to get it out of the apartment and into Bombay Harbour! A photo of the Apsara in Bombay Harbour lives on the dining room wall in Jean Marie's bungalow on the Isle of Wight, which was lovingly left to her by her beloved Auntie Jean.
