The Santo Domingo Pueblo is renowned for preserving one of North America's oldest jewelry-making traditions. For generations, Kewa artisans have meticulously handcrafted heishi beads by cutting, drilling, grinding, and polishing natural stones into smooth, uniform shapes—a process requiring remarkable patience and skill. Every bead in this necklace reflects that dedication, creating strands that flow beautifully together.
