Historically, Kani shawls were woven using small wooden bobbins called kanis, which artisans used to build intricate patterns thread by thread directly into the loom. While this piece is not created using the original hand-Kani weaving technique, it beautifully reflects the aesthetic heritage of those historic shawls, capturing their elaborate floral arrangements, delicate paisleys, and refined ornamental borders that have defined Kashmiri textiles for generations.

Set against a luminous cream ground, the shawl unfolds like a spring garden in bloom.
